Elegy to Mortality Empty Elegy to Mortality

Post  Alicia Carman November 27th 2009, 5:41 pm

    Touch my skin
    Feel it frozen
As for me I cannot feel
    Brush my thoughts
    Hear them echo
    Reprised memories so surreal
Time and snow and moonlight fall
    Moments, flakes, and beams
    So countless
    and useless
    so swift
    but I remember...
    Flushed cheeks, beating heart,
    inhalation, exhalation,
    Sparkling eyes and flowing laughter
Skin as warm as summer sun
    When the world seemed endless
    It truly flew so fast
    Now I know the endlessness
    each moment seems to last
    forever
    Melting, Sliding, Bleeding
    into one another
    Oh sweet mortality
    I lost you long ago
    The kiss of death
    must surely be
    the most passionate
    of all.

    That. Is. Incredible.

    Every line just...flows.

    My favorite is:

"Time and snow and moonlight fall
    Moments, flakes, and beams
    So countless
    and useless
    so swift
    but I remember..."
