Yes, it's the weekend AFTER Halloween - but the last weekend of October was crazy full of things going on, so here we are. We're writers, and we can create a cool/spooky/masquerade atmosphere whenever we feel like it. 
Note: I'm not sure how long this will actually last...call it as we see it?
What's happening:
-supper (when you RSVP, let me know if you can bring some delicious food)
-s'mores, hot chocolate, apple cider (we'll provide this)
-scary or suspenseful readings
-lanterns, cloaks, costumes if you want them
-activities? Jack-o-lanterns, games, watching "Dead Poet's Society" later at night if you'd like to stay for that
Don't worry if you haven't been to a meeting yet; this is open to all interested, as a kick-off for our evening meetings. Get to know other members of the club, bring some appropriate writing...and don't forget your cool hat
